Supporting Young Minds Through Play

To better support Barnard College’s Center for the Study of Child Development (CSCD) in its mission to study young children's behavioral, cognitive, and emotional development, we collaborated with renowned toy designer Cas Holman to create new spaces for play, education, and research. Grounded in extensive research on children's play behaviors and developmental needs, our design fosters exploration, creativity, and learning. The center features a large playroom with a calming, nature-inspired color palette, dedicated observation areas, classrooms, parent-friendly spaces, and research facilities.
